INDOOR-$3.00
Arlington Park
2650 Waldemere St., Sarasota FL 4 Courts
Note: 4 Courts at Arlington. Very nice place to play. Staff is excellent! Ample parking. Usually first court is for beginner level and 2 for intermediate. 4th court is usually reserved for advanced play. No one is every turned away or discouraged to play with other players no matter what their skill level is. NO BULLYING POLICY!
COLONIAL OAKS PARK- 2 courts
5300 Colonial Oaks Blvd., Sarasota – 2 courts inside/1 outside
Monday 10am – 1pm Advanced
Weds. 1:00pm – 4pm
Great place to play. Monday the play indoors is very advanced. Any level can play but you better bring your A game. Wednesday is more relaxed play. Good place for beginners or intermediate play. Advanced players may find it a little non-competitive. The staff is very friendly. I love playing there on Wednesdays. Plenty of parking.
R. L. Taylor-4 Court
1845 34th St. • Sarasota, FL 34234 • Phone 941.954.4182
Beautiful facility with 4 courts. Little problem with windows and lights on the court but they are working on that. Great group of pickleball players play there at all skill level. All levels feel welcomed! Awesome staff.
Newtown Estate Park-4 Courts
2800 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota
There are 4 courts so there is always room for a beginner/intermediate court and the advanced stick together on another court. Intermediate take over the other two. It always seems to work out.
Again, ample parking. The floor seems to be made out of a material that gives a little and some say is kinder on their knees. Other players say that they don’t like the overhead lighting but it never bothers me. I can’t really comment on the staff because I do not know them. There have been issues with the gym being slightly dirty after the weekend before the staff has had time to clean it up from the kids (kids just want to have fun). All in all, and besides the negatives, the positives outweigh the negatives.
Longwood Park – 3 Courts
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 9:00 – 12:00 /3 Courts indoors/1 outdoor
Wednesday is beginners – 9:00 – 12:00
A nice facility and some of the nicest pickleball players play here. Mostly beginner to intermediate play here. The advanced seem to gravitate to Newtown and Arlington. So, if you want to just play a friendly game of pickleball, this is your place. Great staff! Big John at the front desk is awesome! So helpful!
There is an issue with this year with the addition of another court added inside and I hear that there is little room behind one of the courts before you hit the wall. Players were begging for another court to be added but now they are complaining about no room to move around. Geezzzzzz.
Salvation Army Facility – 4 Courts Indoors Note: $3.00 fee
1701 S Tuttle Ave, Sarasota, FL 34239
Monday and Friday
8:30am – 12pm
Now your average Salvation Army facility. It’s beautiful! Mostly beginners and intermediates play here. If you are a beginner, this is where you would want to play. Super friendly people. The nets are not the best. They are the less expensive kind and are getting wrecked. I see people are doing the best they can with duct tape and trying to bend them back in place. Great parking. Usually one staff member collecting money but seem very friendly. Maybe some day, we’ll have a fund raiser to raise $$$$ to purchase new nets. Suggestion: If you have your own net, might be a good idea to bring it and set it up.
